Know where every aircraft is.

Wingbeat works with the tracking hardware you already have, such as a Garmin inReach. It shows your whole fleet on one map, logs every flight on its own, and keeps maintenance, pilot duty time and flight reports up to date. Pilots don't need to install or do anything new.

Flights

Flights are logged automatically.

A flight starts when the aircraft goes faster than 20 knots and ends when it slows down again. Each departure and arrival gets a place name, from map data or from your own list of places, so the log says Kodiak to Larsen Bay instead of showing coordinates.

  • Nothing for pilots to doThere is no start or stop button. Flights are recorded from the tracker's speed.
  • Your own place namesAdd names for your strips, lakes and docks, and flights to and from them use those names.
  • A day at a glanceShow every leg an aircraft flew in a day, numbered in order and colored by aircraft.
Notifications

Get a notification when an aircraft takes off or lands.

Wingbeat sends notifications to your phone through the Pushover app. Each one says which aircraft it is, where it is, the time, and its speed and altitude, with links to the map.

  • Lost signalIf an aircraft in flight stops sending positions for more than 5 minutes, you get alerts until positions start coming in again, then one more to say they have. You can change the 5 minutes.

Maintenance

Maintenance due dates from logged flight time.

Enter a Hobbs or tach reading once. Wingbeat adds the flight time it logs, adjusted by a correction factor you set, so the estimate stays current. Each item on the maintenance schedule shows when it is due, in hours or by date.

  • Hours and datesOil changes and 100-hour inspections by meter time; annual inspections and ELT batteries by date.
  • Due soonItems within 10% of their interval, or within 30 days, are marked as due soon.

Pilot duty

A duty and flight time log for each pilot.

Each pilot's month on one page: every leg with departure and arrival times, block time for each day, and running totals from the last 24 hours up to the last 12 months.

  • Rest daysDays without a flight are marked as rest days and counted over the last 90 days.

Self-hosted

Free

Wingbeat is open source under the AGPL-3.0. It runs as a single Cloudflare Worker with a D1 database, so you can deploy it to your own Cloudflare account and run it yourself, with every feature, as many aircraft as you like, and all data stored in your account.
